#REUNION25

THE DETAILS:
Registration is $60.00 per person.

You can send the money to pvhsclassof1992@hotmail.com or  paypal.me/PVHS92  (when prompted where to send the money). It will make its way into the reunion account and you will have your receipt. Important: CHOOSE SEND MONEY TO FRIENDS/FAMILY not goods and services.
There is a about a $4 processing fee if you pay by credit card or debit card - so to send $120 to the reunion account, you will be charged $123.78 (based on my experience).
The processing fee sucks but in order for us to get the full $120, PayPal has to get theirs as well.
There is no fees if it comes directly from your checking account.
Just wanted everyone to be aware of that. Thank you for understanding.

--- You can send cash or a check made out to Joche' Channon Gauley and send it via snail mail to PO Box 126, Taylor Ridge, IL 61284.

---Registrations at the door will not be accepted.

---We will move to the next phase of planning. Please stay tuned as we will be recruiting folks for sub-committee work.

 BIX 7, 2012 Link

If you have yet to register for the reunion, please do so soon! We need everyone's interest, (and hard earned dollars!) to set the party off! Without registrations, we will have no choice but to cancel the weekend! And, I cannot wait to see Mike Peppin after so long...  And I will finally cease to "liking" every comment and status on Facebook. There is a pot at the end of every rainbow, and incentive for registering.

Azeem has been hard at work trying to locate past teachers and mentors for a pie throwing contest... no seriously, if they are willing, who would want to throw a pie at your favorite teacher?? Or we could rent one of those dunk tanks.... All kidding aside, Wouldn't it be great to sit down adult to adult with these people? I know personally, I would love to see what Ms. Moross or Senor have been up to. Not to mention, where IS Mr.Heimer....?????   ;) And the librarians?

Joche' has been doing a stellar job at tracking everyone's registrations and it seems as if we may be nearing our goal.. so please get your wallets over to PayPal (link on the side...) and register! Once we have our sufficient numbers, we can move more seriously on the task of "party time". Azeem will post on the Facebook site as soon as some more concrete numbers come in.

By the way, Jumer's still has some rooms blocked for our event. It will be a safe place to stay and play and central to all the goings on of the weekend. Many of you will be surprised to see how Bettendorf has changed. They are expanding the I-74 bridge and it seems that Rosses' as we once knew it, will cease to be. So, now more than ever it is imperative to get your Magic Mountain or Volcano before even the President or YOU may no longer be able to enjoy one. They are tossing about plans for relocating, but from what I've read, they are hesitant. The under-the-bridge location has much sentimental meaning to the family.  Whitey's has offered up a few new flavors, one of which is Red Velvet. From what I hear, its fantastic. Happy Joe's has, BREAKFAST pizza. yep. open for breakfast. Haven't tried it yet. Jury still out on that one. Quad Cities has added many new, large chain restaurants like Chipotle and some frozen yogurt buffet place called JuJube's. Another place called Pizza Ranch has also opened up. For all the coffee lovers, HyVee has a Starbucks. And, as always, Rudy's has remained the tried and true home of the cheese fries, adding a location on Elmore.

Crow Creek park has expanded and what we use to know as a secret meeting place, The Quarry, now has several bike paths and overlooking decks for all to enjoy the local wildlife and fishing,  I assume. LeClaire is booming with the notereity of the American Pickers! The unique shoppes and restaurants are ever so delicious and original. A new LC favorite for fresh style tacos is the Blue Iguana located right by The Faithful Pilot, Happy Joe's, and Sneaky Pete's! Bierstub and Hungry Hobo have also opened up new locations right off the I-80 bridge. The River Bandits are back to being just that, and they are doing pretty well! The stadium underwent extensive remodeling and you can now sit on a grassy knoll to enjoy the boys of summer play ball. Located in the same area, once known as the Freight House they have opened a successful Farmer's Market open on weekends. There are little shops and deli's and you can even get a massage while you're buying a local ear of corn. (Nothing spells summer like a fresh ear of Iowa corn, you know you have missed it!) The faithful gambling boats are ever present at our water fronts and are even planning to move inland.. I think. Also in Davenport, is the new art museum know as the Figge. Overhead you will see the new famed and lighted Skywalk to take you over and across to the gambling boat. Over in Illinois, the Moline waterfront boasts some of the area's most fabulous and delicious fine dining and nightlife, all of which are located walking distance from the "Mark" or the I Wireless Center as it is now named.  I sure hope i have not missed some important updates! I hope you all get to come and enjoy what we all know or used to call "home".

Please direct any questions or comments over to any one of the chairs! We cannot wait to bring you a fabulous party.

Registrations!!

Registration deadline extended! We had enough progress to extend the deadline to June 15th. This is the FINAL day! If we don't have enough commitments by then - well....it won't come to that! :)

UPDATE
Mixer venue for July 27, 2012 - The Valley Inn wasn't guaranteed to be finished with their renovations by our reunion. Have no fear though, as we have secured "The Main Event" located 3819 State Street, Bettendorf, IA whose bar manager is our very own Jay Damushes. Start time for the mixer is still 7:00pm with cash bar and kitchen services available. Thanks, Jay for helping us out!! We look forward to starting off the reunion weekend at your place (of work)!

FASHION?
Women:
The early 1990s saw a continuation of 1980s fashion: women wore tight-fitting trousers with elastic boot-straps (stirrup pants/leggings), denim button down shirts, neon colors, drainpipe jeans, oversized sweaters, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and black leather jackets. Women also wore court shoes, cowboy boots, colored tights, bike shorts, tartan skirts, baby doll dresses, matching jeans and denim jackets (in dark shades rather than the bleached acid wash of the 1980s), headscarves, leggings, trenchcoats lined with fake fur, and penny loafers (associated with the preppy look). Many women wore black leggings with white slouch socks, athletic sneakers and oversized T-shirts as exercise wear. It was not uncommon to see mothers dressed right along with their daughters in slouch socks worn over leggings or sweatpants, oversized shirt or sweater, and sneakers like Keds or Converse.
Men:
In the early 1990s flannel became very awesome and lasted through most of the decade. Unlike the fitted Western shirts of the 70s which fastened with pearl snaps, the flannel shirts of the 1990s were padded and loose-fitting for optimum warmth. Preppy clothing was popular in the US, where wealthy young men wore khaki slacks, navy blueblazers and canvas boat shoes. Men also wore Converse All Stars, Acid wash denim jackets, straight-leg jeans like Levi 501s, wool sweaters, black leather jackets, sheepskin coats, Members Only jackets, corduroy, anoraks, polo shirts, white Adidas trainers and Aviator sunglasses popularized by rock star Freddie Mercury.

The new wave and heavy metal fashion of the 1980s lasted until early 1992, when Grunge and hip hop fashion took over in popularity. The sagging trend began in the early-1990s and continued until the mid 2000s but faded into the 2010s. Hardcore Punk fashion, which began in the 1970s, was very popular in the 1990s, and Goth fashionreached its peak. The dominant youth clothing fad at the beginning of the 1990s was fluorescent clothing in blue, green, orange, pink, and yellow. Hoop earrings were also a popular accessory for teenaged girls and women in the first years of the 1990s. Popular colors for girls included coral, hot pink, and turquoise. In Britain and the USA, girls wore oversized tee shirts, sweat shirts, sweaters, slouch socks worn over sweatpants or leggings, black or white lace trimmed bike shorts with babydoll dresses, belts worn with dresses, sweaters, and t-shirts, flats, Keds, Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, shortalls, flared trousers, and athletic shorts. Boys wore soccer shorts, jean jackets, tartan shirts, tapered acid wash jeans, and sweatpants.
